"Jason has been the most impactful teacher on my musical journey. He has a brilliant mind, a dedicated spirit, and cares deeply for his students and their wellbeing and success in all areas of life. I am forever indebted to him for his pioneering and curations of the learning experiences and musical opportunities that directly led to me working as a professional musician today."

Sya Collins - Vocalist, Former Student

Jason has twenty years of experience teaching woodwinds, brass, strings, and percussion. He has directed orchestras, wind ensembles, jazz bands, in addition to coaching chamber groups and pop acts. Jason has also taught AP music theory, class piano, and orchestration. Mr Harris has garnered national recognition for his innovative approaches to utilizing technology in music education.

"Mr. Harris took over a struggling band program and revived it to become a nationally ranked HS band. He took the students we had and catered the program to their skills. Our jazz band, rock band and R and B band were so good local establishments were hiring them out to work real gigs. Mr. Harris's leadership led to our band being named "The Best HS Band" in the United States. What he accomplished is unreal and I watched how hard and strategically he worked to make it happen. Jason Harris has a mind for this type of creative work and all he needed was the 'go ahead' from me, his principal to make it happen."

"The first and most important thing that one should know about Mr. Harris is that as an educator, his priorities are held in the students, and their success both as musicians, and as individuals. I have seen countless examples of Mr. Harris acting in the best interest of his students and acting as an advocate for the students. On top of this behavior, Mr. Harris is an excellent educator and musician, that is able to create personal bonds with his students so that they may feel more connected and passionate about their music. His understanding of how students feel about their positions in school and his ability to make them feel welcomed and important is unparalleled. Having worked under him as a student, musician, and colleague on some gigs, I can without a doubt say that he embodies professionalism and kindness like no other."

Mr. Kian Howe, Former Student
